Support for Biwako Barrier-Free Kendo Club (Shiga Prefecture) and Implementation of Joint Research Activities

Kendo Innovation Laboratory agrees with the objectives of the Biwako Barrier-Free Kendo Club (Representative: Yasuhisa Mitoma), which is active in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, and we would like to work together to explore rational teaching methodologies that allow people with disabilities to actively practice Kendo, enjoy it, and improve their health.

The club will continue to work together to explore the true principles and possibilities of Kendo.

The club was founded about five years ago at the initiative of Yasuhisa Mitoma (Kendo Renshi 7-dan), a former member of the Shodokan junior class, who was the captain of the Kanazawa University Kendo Club and is now a teacher at a public high school in Shiga Prefecture.

This month, I had the honor of witnessing the opening of the Kyoto branch of the club (headed by Dr. Hiroko Takahashi, a specially appointed professor at Kyoto University), and worked hard together.
Kendo Innovation Laboratory regularly donates a part of the proceeds from its activities (e.g. Youtube proceeds) to the Club and supports its activities in a small way.

President: Morimasa Okada.
